This all started off at the Navy days in Mumbles, Swansea. The weather was atrocious, howling gales and driving winds. My spinning sisters from the Tawe Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers, were doing our best to keep our spirits up – literally. As there were few visitors, the free tots of rum were flowing in our direction…
Someone wondered if you could spin wearing a full diving outfit. I offered to try… and the rest is history. Extreme spinning was born!
I try to grab all opportunities to promote the skill and art of hand spinning, usually now to raise funds for a charity. The cherry picker adventure took place at Powderham Castle at the Toby’s Garden Festival in June, raising monies for the British Heart Foundation.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss your extreme spinning requirements!
